PRE-REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Space is Limited

“The Kairos Blanket Exercise program is a unique, participatory history lesson – developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers and educators – that fosters truth, understanding, respect and reconciliation among Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.” (www.kairosblanketexercise.org)

It is now available as a workshop in many communities across Canada.

Our facilitator Mireille LaPointe is past chief of Ardoch Algonquin First Nation, co-chair of the Indigenous Health Council, and a high school teacher in Perth. Following a short break once the “exercise” has been completed, we will debrief our experience, using a Talking Circle format. The morning will finish with a community potluck feast providing more time to continue the conversation informally.

Participants are invited to come well rested with an open mind, prepared for a new learning experience. Pre-registration is required since space is limited and a heart donation is appreciated.

The Blanket Exercise is Saturday, Oct 19, from 9:30 to 1:30, at the Almonte United Church Hall, 106 Elgin St., Almonte.

Space is limited. Pre-register required. Admission $15.00 https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2019-fall-blanket-exercise-tickets-72545787403
